Congratulations to the three lucky winners of the June 2015 Travel Club draw

Three fantastic wildlife trips to Bulgaria, Poland and Sweden were matched with their lucky winners at a draw of the Rewilding Europe Travel Club taking place in Bulgaria last Saturday. The Grand Prize winner of the June 2015 Travel Club was drawn by Lena M. Lindén, Rewilding Europe Supervisory Board member. Stoycho Stoychev, team leader of the Rhodope Mountains rewilding area and Betty Vasileva, Bulgarian entrepreneur and owner of the Wild Farm, drew the second and third prizes.

Crossing the Western Iberia rewilding area on a 200 km trail

The Côa Valley Grand Route, a 200 km marked trail that crosses the entire Western Iberia, has been recently launched. The picturesque route connects the river from the spring to the mouth. This is the perfect opportunity for tourists and nature lovers to visit the Western Iberia rewilding area, enjoy its wildlife and discover the beautiful countryside of Portugal.

A newborn in the new bison herd in the Southern Carpathians

The new herd of European bison that was released in May in the Țarcu Mountains, Romania, now has a new member: a calf! The newborn is doing very well and as you can see from the photo it is already exploring the beautiful nature of the Southern Carpathians rewilding area. The little one was born in the night between 13 and 14 June and just recently our local colleagues and the bison rangers could say: “It’s a boy!”
