Rewilding Europe is delighted to welcome the Living on the Edge project to the European Rewilding Network (ERN). The aim of this Austrian multimedia initiative is to raise awareness of large predators in Central Europe, and to promote the co-existence of humans, wildlife and wild nature. The new membership, which takes the number of pan-European network members to 68 (including Rewilding Europe’s eight operational areas), represents the ERN’s second high-impact communications project.

Rewilding Europe is delighted to welcome the Wallasea Island Wild Coast Project to the European Rewilding Network. Comprising 850 hectares of tidal saltmarsh and mudflats, brackish lagoons, grazing marsh and freshwater grassland, as well as arable bird cover, this landmark conservation and engineering project represents the largest man-made marine wetland area in the United Kingdom. The addition takes the number of network members to 67 (including Rewilding Europe’s eight operational areas), distributed right across Europe.

Working to promote the nature-based economic development of the Serra da Estrela region, the Rewilding Geopark Estrela project takes the number of network members to 65 (including Rewilding Europe’s eight operational areas), distributed right across Europe.

Marker Wadden reaches milestone with island opening

Tauros herd transported from Taurus Foundation to the Auerrind Project

Cooperation between a member of the European Rewilding Network (the Auerrind Project) and partner of Rewilding Europe (the Taurus Foundation) saw eight Tauros translocated between the Netherlands and Germany in August. A significant milestone in the development of the Auerrind Project, the translocation will help with the back-breeding of aurochs.

German Auerrind project joins European Rewilding Network

Displaying impressive growth since its launch at WILD10 in Salamanca in October 2013, the network now comprises 61 members from 26 European countries (including Rewilding Europe’s eight operational areas).
