Shot by renowned Portuguese wildlife filmmaker Joao Cosme, “Wilder Côa” is a visually stunning documentary portraying nature and rewilding in Portugal’s Greater Côa Valley. A recent premiere in Lisbon attracted an audience of more than 200 guests, helping the Rewilding Portugal team raise the profile of the landscape and their ongoing efforts.

Rewilding is transforming the outlook for communities and nature in eastern Spain’s Iberian Highlands. A new documentary by award-winning filmmaker Emmanuel Rondeau, which recently premiered in one of the landscape’s most beautiful al fresco settings, tells an intimate story of this transformation.

“The Circle of Life in the Rhodope Mountains”, a 12-minute documentary by Emmanuel Rondeau, tells the hopeful story of rewilding in the Rhodope Mountains of Bulgaria. At the beginning of November, a well-attended premiere in the town of Kardzhali helped the local rewilding team engage a wide range of stakeholders.

“A New Path for the Velebit Mountains”, an enthralling 15-minute documentary by Emmanuel Rondeau, tells the story of rewilding in this beautiful part of Croatia. At the end of March, a premiere in the local town of Gospić drew a large and diverse audience.

Shot by Bruno D’Amicis and Umberto Esposito, the short film “Central Apennines, A Rewilding Journey” is a beautiful vignette of rewilding in the Central Apennines of Italy. Boosting outreach in the local community, it will also help to promote rewilding to a wider audience.

Thanks to a partnership with global law firm Hogan Lovells, a new series of short films showcasing the work of Rewilding Europe will begin production this spring. By demonstrating the beneficial impact of our rewilding efforts, this exciting series will boost outreach and help to scale up rewilding.

A new documentary presents the unique dining habits of Rhodopean vultures. 

A 25-minute documentary featuring renowned TV presenter and Dutch Postcode Lottery Ambassador Humberto Tan was released in Amsterdam today. Produced by New Earth Films productions and Buro JAM for National Geographic in the Netherlands, the documentary – titled “Door Het Oog” (“Through the Eye of” in English) – showcases Tan’s visits to the Velebit Mountains and Central Apennines in July and September. Here he shot photos of Rewilding Europe’s ongoing work, as well as local landscapes, wildlife and people.
