New Special Advisor to Rewilding Europe: Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente
Rewilding Europe is very proud to announce a new Special Advisor has joined our initiative: Mrs. Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente from Spain.
Mrs. Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente is the third member of a small and dedicated team of Special Advisors that Rewilding Europe is establishing. In November last year, Laurentien van Oranje-Nassau (the Netherlands) and Dr. Claude Martin (Switzerland) became the first Special Advisors of Rewilding Europe. Special Advisors have a specific role in supporting Rewilding Europe based on their skills, expertise, reputation and networks and will provide support to the Executive Team.
Mrs Odile Rodríguez de la Fuente has an educational background in biological sciences and cinema production (University of LA, California) after high school in Spain, England and Switzerland. Currently, she is founder and Managing Director of the Fundación Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, an important NGO in Spain, named after her father who was a very famous Spanish nature filmmaker. Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente produced some very famous films and books, and was responsible for positioning Spain as one of the pioneering countries in Europe to first have laws protecting birds of prey and wolves. Unfortunately he died in a plane crash in Alaska when Odile was only 7 years young. Odile has followed the footsteps of her father and dedicates her life to protect and to communicate about nature and its wonders. She is a board member of WWF Spain (who was co-founded by her father), and has been leading a number of TV productions, books, conferences, social network campaigns and educational products. She worked for National Geographic Television (Washington DC) for a period of 4 years. Currently, Odile is also participating in a National Rural Network and creating an association of environmental organizations in Spain.
In Rewilding Europe, Odile will have a particular role in communication and networking, representing the initiative towards certain external audiences, especially in the Mediterranean parts of Europe.
Rewilding Europe warmly welcomes Odile and is very much looking to work with her during the coming years.
