Dam removal boosts connectivity in Nordic Taiga

A grant from the Open Rivers Programme has enabled the removal of a number of small dams in the catchment of the Vindel River, in the Nordic Taiga rewilding landscape. By enabling the free flow of water, this will help to revitalise waterscapes and the wildlife populations they support.

River restoration in Swedish Lapland moves forward

Rewilding Sweden has been carrying out river restoration work in Swedish Lapland since 2016. Newly funded efforts will now focus on removing barriers from the River Abramsån, promising benefits for migratory fish, local communities and wild nature.
