What will tomorrow’s wild look like? Citizen Zoo’s “Rewilding Futures” conference, which took place on January 17 and 18 in the UK, offered strategies, solutions, and a clear message: now is the time to rewild with boldness and determination.

As part of the LIFE Vultures project, experts from across Europe gathered in Dadia National Park recently to discuss the poisoning of vultures by veterinary drugs such as diclofenac. Their discussions will hopefully enable better decision-making in vulture conservation efforts going forwards, and boost efforts to increase black and griffon vulture populations in the Balkans.

Elitsa Kapushev is a Bulgarian student at the University of Berlin. Visiting an Iranian summer school focused on the environment in August, she chose to present the work of the Rewilding Rhodopes team.
