These eagles are not only spectacular and wonderful birds; they are also an indispensible part of our ecosystems, and a major attraction for bird watchers and nature tourists that visit these areas to see them. Rewilding means securing hunting habitat and availability of prey.
In our rewilding areas, we are working to protect and support the comeback of some magnificent eagle species, like the white-tailed eagle in the Oder Delta, the Bonelli’s eagle in Western Iberia and the Eastern Imperial eagle in the Rhodope Mountains. This is done through improving prey conditions, protection of nesting sites, intensive monitoring of the breeding success and combatting poisoning. In Western Iberia, we hope for the return of the Spanish imperial eagle – the first observations were already done.
Choose this cause to support the magnificent eagles in our rewilding areas!
