Dutch Postcode Lottery
On 9 February 2011, The Dutch Postcode Lottery granted 3,1 million euros enabling Rewilding Europe to start the initiative for a period of 3 years. This grant, which was received through our initiating partner ARK Nature, is mainly allocated to the support of the first five rewilding areas, with direct outputs in the field.
On 13 February 2013, Rewilding Europe became a beneficiary of the Dutch Postcode Lottery, enabling us to consolidate achievements so far and build the initiative in the years to come. The yearly contribution for Rewilding Europe to run the initiative is 500 000 euros for a period of 5 years.
Since 1989, the Dutch Postcode Lottery has been raising funds to support organizations working for a fairer, greener world. Fifty percent of its income goes to charity. The lottery is the Netherlands' biggest charity lottery and supports 89 nongovernmental organizations. Since its founding, the lottery has dispensed more than 3 billion euros to its beneficiaries.
